Miami Beach Mayor Jim Lange parked his car next to City Hall this morning, bought a copy of the Miami Herald at the newsstand on the corner, read it while having scrambled eggs and coffee at Gyro's Diner down the street and then strolled to his office. As he was walking to his office from Gyro's, a coconut fell from a palm tree striking him on the head and knocking him out on the same day that he had proclaimed "Coconut Day."
